A flower girl usually scatters rose petals along the bridal path as she charmingly walks on.

As generations have progressed, these rose petals are now being changed to wrapped candies, confetti, or bubbles. Meanwhile, most brides who are traditionally bound, still prefer rose petals or flowers.

Accordingly, the brides still believe on the idea of fertility, which is the main reason they have flower girls, dressed in either ivory flower girl dresses or white flower girl dresses whilst holding a basket full of red or white rose petals and have them toss on the aisle. On the other hand, choosing red and white rose petals too is very symbolic as the color indicates love and passion.

As young as the little girls are, this is a given role for them being flower girls. Regardless of applying make up or not, they will always look beautiful and adorable in their fairytale dress attires. They are usually the center of attraction next to the bride.

Every wedding is unique on its own and it is not really necessary to have the bridal party be completed from flower girls, junior bridesmaids as well as bridesmaids.
